Thank you to all the Southland businesses who answered our phone survey and attended our recent workshops on Business Sustainability Opportunities (9 October, Invercargill).

At the workshop business leaders responding to environmental and economic challenges shared their experiences, attendees were able to discuss issues important to them, share ideas and have their say in shaping the future of sustainable business in Southland. These workshops are part of a sustainable business project which aims to help Southland businesses take advantage of opportunities that will help ensure long term sustainable economic activity at the same time as help the environment and the community. The project involves developing a cohesive regional strategy, which provides an overview of current sustainable practices, identifies Southland businesses needs and what resources are available to them. The strategy will identify any gaps, opportunities and next steps in working with local businesses on sustainability issues.
