Audiences were captivated by the very funny Penny Ashton in Invercargill, Riverton and Gore in the weekend. Fantastic engagement with the audience, talented singing and thought-provoking comedy - audiences found the show hugely entertaining and even educational, as Penny exposed some of the facts, figures, myths and milestones of the sex industry, all executed with good-hearted humour, parody, songs and improvised theatre.
The Sunday concert series kicked off at the Civic Theatre with an excellent turnout for the Taste of Cabaret from IMTC; and the Invercargill Symphonia. It was great to see the orchestra playing in the beautiful acoustics of the Civic Theatre. Around 160 people attended.
The Artists’ Luncheon and One Day Exhibition at the Kelvin Hotel was a sell-out event with 110 people attending lunch and enjoying the guest speaker, Artist, Janet de Wagt from Dunedin.
Outside Edge also began at Repertory House. The funny British comedy about cricket, relationships and middle-aged angst has been enjoyed by audiences. The show continues until Friday.
