Businesses in Southland will have the opportunity to become even more sustainable with Venture Southland’s six-part sustainability workshop series.

The workshops are in the form of a two-day seminar and are aimed at businesses that have already taken some action towards becoming sustainable, such as recycling or changing to energy efficient light bulbs, and who are looking to do more.

Topics to be covered include efficient resource use, energy efficiency (including transport), water efficiency, compliance regulations, social responsibility, green marketing and planning for sustainability.

Presenters for the workshops will be a mixture of local business representatives, industry experts and academics. A key part of the workshops will be to learn from local businesses through a number of site visits.

Up to 15 businesses are likely to attend, with spaces filling up fast. If you are interested in making your business more sustainable, contact Venture Southland’s Enterprise Projects Coordinator, Karyn Owen, for more details.

The workshops will be held on Wednesday, 9 June and Thursday, 10 June (8.45am-5pm both days) at Venture Southland in Invercargill.
