The announcement that TRENZ (Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand) is to be held in Queenstown for the first time in 2011 was very exciting news for the region.
The event provides an opportunity for Southland tourism businesses to showcase product offerings from throughout the region to key wholesalers in targeted international markets.
In the past smaller Southland tourism businesses have not been able to attend TRENZ because of the high costs involved, but with the event being held in Queenstown it will allow more local businesses to attend the event.
Venture Southland representatives were recently joined by Ascot park Hotel at TRENZ 2010 held in Auckland. The event attracted almost 300 media and international travel buyers from various markets.
