Assistance and resources available for groups managing community swimming pools
Venture Southland is currently working on developing resources that will assist Pool Committees managing community swimming pools. Swimming pools are essential community facilities as swimming and water safety skills are crucial for a region that has so much water. Southland District has 33 non-commercial swimming pools in its area, most of which are on school land however many are jointly used and operated by schools and community groups.
A template Hire Agreement is now that can be used by Pool Committees for key holders and other pool hirers to minimise the liabilities they would face in case of a serious accident outside of their control. For other initiatives see the case studies.
