The stories of the six wives of Henry VIII have now been modernised by UK writers Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer in what will be a New Zealand premiere. The Regina Monologues will be performed as part of Southland’s May Arts Festival next week (Wednesday-Saturday, May 20-23) at Repertory House in Invercargill.

International education agents from Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Poland, Thailand and Britain visited Southland during the first week of May 2009. The group of 10 were in New Zealand to attend a conference in Auckland and visited Southland Boys' High, Southland Girls' High, Central Southland, Aparima, James Hargest and Menzies, while also taking in the sights of Stewart Island and Fiordland.

 The May Arts Festival continues its run of high quality arts events with its dance highlight of two performances from Footnote Dance.

New Zealand's national contemporary dance company will present the return of its perennial dance favourite, 2009 Made inNew Zealand, a unique highlight of the dance calendar that showcases original home-grown dance works set to New Zealand music on Sunday May 24 at Repertory House, Invercargill. The company will perform twice, at 1.30pm and 4.00pm.
