This year’s Shakespeare in the Park projects proved a hit among locals with two separate productions that celebrated 10 years of outdoor performances.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) was revived for a six performance season in Queens Park. Great weather and free admission attracted a substantial crowd to each show. Shakespeare in the Dark was performed indoors using the Lazerland Entertainment Venue and attracted 970 people over eight performances.
The productions had a cast and crew of 65 and a special feature this year was the introduction of professional lighting and set designer Michael Knapp.
Performance dates were from 11 – 21 February and Venture Southland has been overwhelmed with positive responses from the public, many of whom attended both Shakespeare in the Park and Shakespeare in the Dark shows.
