Southland’s Sustainable Business website, www.sustainablesouthland.co.nz, is now offering a free advisory service for local businesses.
The service will target a specific topic each month, and will provide an online discussion forum and the chance to ask the advisor questions relating to that month’s particular topic.
Advisors will be consultants, business advisors and council staff who have expertise on the topic.
August saw the launch of the advisory service, with the topic being carbon credits. Following the service launch, the discussion forum is fast becoming one of the most popular pages on the website.
Venture Southland’s Enterprise Projects Coordinator, Karyn Owen, said while only a small number of people took the opportunity to ask the advisor a question during August, interest in the existing discussions had been overwhelming.
“The agriculture and emissions discussion received over 1197 views with the discussion on the Emissions Trading Scheme for small forestry owners receiving 570 views,” Miss Owen said.
September's feature topic is waste with invercargill City Council's Waste Minimisation Officer, Donna Peterson, offering expert advice.
To access the information, take part in the discussion or to ask a question, go to the website, click on the latest forum post “free advice on carbon credits”, or use the menu at the topic of the website to navigate to the discussion forum.
