The stories of the six wives of Henry VIII have now been modernised by UK writers Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer in what will be a New Zealand premiere. The Regina Monologues will be performed as part of Southland’s May Arts Festival next week (Wednesday-Saturday, May 20-23) at Repertory House in Invercargill.

This year’s southern celebration of MATARIKI, (Maori New Year) is now in its planning stages at Venture Southland.

In keeping with the promotion of this nationally occurring annual celebration, Venture Southland is building on the interest generated with last year’s Matariki - Fire and Ice with a special night of Maori short films.

The national travelling programme of Maori short films, The Wairoa Matariki Maori Film Festival will be showcased at Centrestage Theatre on Saturday, June 6.
