Australian celebrity and television front man Jules Lund was in Southland recently as part of a campaign being run in
conjunction with Tourism New Zealand, Tourism Dunedin, Venture Southland and Destination Fiordland.
Accompanied with a small film crew; the Canon EOS photography competition winner, Camilla Lundbak; well known Australian blogger, Neerav Bhatt; and professional photographer, Clive Copeland; the group’s aim was to collect footage and images of the regions, to be used on websites, social media channels and in Australian media.
The film footage is now live on Tourism New Zealand’s website, click here to check it out.
The group visited and filmed areas around Dunedin before heading to the remote Mason Bay on Stewart Island where they stayed overnight in hope to see kiwi.
In their second day in Southland, they visited Okaka Hut on the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track and stayed overnight at Port Craig Hut.
The group walked parts of the track and collected excellent footage and images including a beautiful Western Southland sunrise, before they flew by helicopter to the Waitutu Lodge, where they enjoyed a good old kiwana barbecue lunch before jet boating up the Wairaurihiri River to Lake Hauroko, New Zealand’s deepest lake. They finished their tour of Southern New Zealand with a visit to Milford Sound.
The photography competition which was run through Canon “World of EOS” which offered the winner the chance to travel through Southern New Zealand with the group. Using some of the latest photography equipment provided by Canon, Camilla Lundbak was able to take some stunning images. To see her album, click here.
