The stylish Thomas Green Public House & Dining Room is Gore's go to place for a great meal, great service, and a great time!
Centrally located, our restaurant gives visitors one of New Zealand's most memorable small town experiences. Passionate chefs working with farm-fresh, locally grown ingredients, result in a dining experience that's second-to-none. Our large dining room features a massive open fireplace, surrounded by plush leather couches and comfortable, elegant dining. Diners can choose from a superb à la carte menu that includes light meals, mains and desserts and specialty cheeses. A children’s menu is also available.
Whether it's business, birthday celebrations, an anniversary or even a wedding we are also happy to host your function in either the main dining area, the mezzanine floor, or the conference room. Special menus and packages are available to suit every occasion.
The Thomas Green celebrates one of Gore's earliest entreprenuers and it's first Mayor; Thomas Green. The building that houses the restaurant was built in 1906. Its original street facade has been carefully restored and the interior stylings echo this grand era with a contemporary twist. The story of Thomas Green is told inside the restaurant along with historic imagery of Gore in the early 1900s. The result is an authentic environment rich in local history.
